Glenn A. Griffin, DO, FACOS
Board Certified General Surgeon and member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.  He has performed thousands of general and laparoscopic surgeries throughout his career.  After learning of the positive effects of weight loss surgery on diseases such as Type II Diabetes, Hypertension and Sleep Apnea, Dr. Griffin began performing laparoscopic gastric banding for obesity treatment in 2007.  Additionally, he offers the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy for weight loss as well as general surgery

Dr. Griffin started Corpus Christi Bariatrics and Corpus Christi Lap-Band in 2007. He has traveled throughout the United States and has worked with some of the nation's top bariatric surgeons in order to maintain successful clinical outcomes for his patients. He performs the laparoscopic gastric band AND gastric sleeve procedures in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Dr. Griffin also specializes in laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. He has experience in both the open "big incision" gallbladder surgery and the laparoscopic "small incision" surgery. He was the first general surgeon in Corpus Christi to do the SILS (single incision laparoscopic surgery) cholecystectomy whereby the gallbladder is removed through a single one inch incision at the bellybutton. Most patients requiring gallbladder
surgery may go home the same day of their surgery or the following morning.

Dr. Griffin is proud to provide his expertise in hernia surgery as well. He performs both open and laparoscopic hernia repairs. He has lectured to physician groups on hernia anatomy, procedures, and mesh materials for hernia repair.

Recently, Dr. Griffin was named Program Faculty Member and Lab Instructor for the Ventral Hernia Repair Course at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles by ETHICON, Inc.
